This project consists of a like-for-like replacement of a failed 42 year-old packaged rooftop heat pump unit. The original rooftop ductwork connections are reversed when compared to a modern unit. This configuration required several modifications involving the re-alignment of the supply air connection and a complete re-work of the return air connection.

The high efficiency standards required for current heating and air conditioning systems has decreased the energy consumption while increasing the overall system performance.

This project consists of one 3000 CFM air handler using outside air to provide a constant supply of fresh indoor air and is inter-locked to a rooftop sidewall exhaust fan. Features include a custom designed control system; duct mounted carbon monoxide detector, motorized bypass damper, enthalpy control, low temperature limit thermostat, and duct smoke detector controlled by a time clock.

The exposed supply air ductwork system begins as metal spiral pipe and transitions to fabric ductwork for quiet and draft free indoor comfort.
